Online Banking Security

First Bank Online uses the best available technology to ensure that your personal information remains secure.

1. Account numbers are never displayed. Instead of displaying account numbers, each account is given a pseudo name that can be changed by the customer at any time.

2. Social Security Numbers and Employer Identification Numbers are never displayed. To keep these numbers confidential, a row of X's appears in place of the numbers.

3. Valid NetTeller Identification Number and PIN are required. Only your valid NetTeller Identification Number and PIN will allow you to sign on to First Bank NetTeller. If these numbers are incorrectly entered three times in a row, the account will be locked to prohibit further entries.

4. Automatic Log-Off. After 10 minutes of inactivity on the online system, your session will be terminated and you will be automatically signed off.

5. Encryption. Encryption means to "scramble" the data so that the transmissions can only be read by First Bank. First Bank recommends 128-bit encryption (which is supported by the updated versions of most browsers); however, the online system can also support 40-bit encryption.

Additional Security

Do not share your NetTeller Identification Number or PIN with anyone. You will be able to change both the NetTeller Identification Number and PIN anytime you choose through the online banking system. In addition, you will be required by the system to change your PIN every 90 days. If at any time you feel that someone is compromising your online information, please contact First Bank personnel immediately.
